Managing Disgruntled Employees
Today's situation that appears to be a simple petty complaint, or a general grumbling among co-workers or between management and its employees, often will become tomorrow's litigated claim. As a manager, your challenge is to overcome your desire to "ignore that stuff" and instead to deal with the smoke before it becomes a fire. This takes heightened observation, enhanced communication skills and, importantly, a commitment to stop trouble when it first begins.
Managing Disgruntled Employees is a half-day live training program designed to train you to respond in ways that can reduce the likelihood that personality disputes and destructive emotions will give rise to future legal disputes.
Smart Hiring Training
Good risk management begins with smart hiring decisions. This one-day live training program covers the major hiring issues included in an effective loss control program. Topics include job notices and advertisements; job applications; job descriptions; interview techniques; background checks; references; job offers; post-offer/pre-hiring drug testing; and document retention.
Smart Risk Management®
Smart Risk Management® addresses the major workplace exposures, and provides a framework-sample workplace policies, sample personnel forms, and other tools-to help reduce the risk of loss and litigation in your workplace. Workplace Investigation Basics
Even well managed organizations may one day need an effective investigation because of an employee complaint or an allegation of workplace wrongdoing. For a management decision to be credible and defensible, it must be based on accurate facts. When allegations are reported, the potential liability of the organization and the personal liability of the investigator will depend upon the quality and integrity of the investigative process.
The course focuses on the skills, procedures, and practices needed to avoid creating liability for the organization and the investigator, both during and after an investigation. Workplace Investigation Basics™ is a valuable, interactive experience for three groups: (1) those who already conduct harassment and discrimination investigations, (2) those who are looking to be trained, and (3) those who hire or manage those who conduct such investigations.
